JEFF BOYD
Jeff Boyd has been a trial lawyer since 1982 and a nationally known trial consultant since 1998. He has tried or arbitrated over 100 civil cases to verdict and has conducted over 1,000 interactive focus groups. He is a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC), the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), the American Association for Justice (AAJ), and the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ). He is also Co-Chair of AAJ’s Jury Bias Litigation Group and is a frequent lecturer and author on all manner of jury trial subjects.
Jeff received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Kent State University and his law degree from The Ohio State University. He spent the first 27 years of his legal career in Ohio where he tried cases throughout the state. He was president of the Central Ohio Association for Justice and was active in the Ohio Association for Justice where he received the President’s Award.
DEBORAH NELSON
Deborah Nelson graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in Savannah, Georgia, and the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She is a partner in Seattle based Nelson Boyd Attorneys and is a partner in Boyd Trial Consulting, a national trial consulting firm that provides interactive focus groups, mock trials, surveys, witness preparation, assistance with voir dire, and related services.
Deborah is a past President of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ) and a past president of the American Association for Justice’s (AAJ) Council of Presidents. She is past chair of AAJ’s Insurance Law Section and is a member of AAJ’s Jury Bias Litigation Group and Leaders Forum. She is also a member of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC), the American Psychological Association’s Behavior Analysis Division, and the American Psychology-Law Society.
